Tourism in Kuwait … yeah right!!!
the international economy forum rated 125 countries for its tourism competition. the number 1 country was Switzerland and the number 1 Arab country was UAE. we know what you are thinking …. ummmm! how about Kuwait?? well we are sorry to disappoint you, but Kuwait came in the 67 place and second to last among Arab countries. Dinar Chat this week tries to analyze the reasons and the finds ways to improve that. Listen to the episode and lets have your feedback. and oooh yes … enjoy your summer

BedoOr: Thanks for the comment & welcome back… I thought we lost for a while but thank god you are still around. Another thing is your screen name has changed in its style so I guess this is the new you….
As for the episode, I think we need to understand that economy is related to tourism and so many other issues that need to be fixed. We would love to see Kuwait number one in everything including tourism. Cheers and welcome back once again.

I’m fairly new here and finding it quite easy to be very positive about Kuwait……
Let me start again. I went to Failaka island and found it to be a fraud and the journey throughly irritating and that is genuine tourism. On the other hand I’m glad that there is no gun shop in Marina Mall because I would have shot myself. The fish market is quite good (provided you are not a fish) and I’ll go back there.
Other than that Jaipur, Hong Kong and the seven wonders of the worl had better watch out because K is now on the map!!

Bedoor: Thanks for the comment and sorry for my late reply due to a serious computer virus I got as a gift from Ali, Musaed & Fahad….. Just kidding but the virus was real.
We are glad to have you back and look forward for your valued comments. Cheers
Allen: Thanks for the comment and welcome aboard. Kuwait tourism has a long way to go but before we even worry about this we should be more concerned about some of the laws in this country that even make citizens run away !!!!! Cheers and welcome once again.

20 years?? I think that’s a life time to take some one to court! Why because he had was6a?? Sometimes I’m so glad I left all those heart breaking stuff behind me!
I was shocked to hear that Kuwait’s transportation is still so far behind!!! I’m so sad to hear that!
Exactly! I look for the events every time I visit a country! Even here in Cyprus try too my daughter’s and my brain working with all the multicultural events! I was so surprised to read about the events there from the Deera Ch! I don’t remember anything like that when living in Kuwait! It’s wrong not to push and advertise more about every event!!
I have some friends that went to Dubai 2 years ago and were telling me how wonderful and who fun the desert was! They apparently have taken a day trip to the desert and got to sand ski and do so many other stuff that I never knew you could do in the desert! So why doesn’t Kuwait use their deserts?
I talked many times about Kuwait to my friends and family! I told them about the history, the desert, the sea and so many other things! They are surprised why it that this is not put in commercials and get the Kuwait tourism to work!? I told them 10 years ago when they started the Hela Febrayer and it was a good idea! But they didn’t continue in the right way because if they did they would have been heard of!
I would tell some one I’m half Kuwaiti and half Finn, they would ask me where is Kuwait? Is it an Arab country?? They don’t even get it till I explain; it’s the country where Saddam went in to occupy and then started the whole gulf war!
But why? Why do I have to explain why isn’t one of the richest countries in the world unknown to most!? Ok When I talk to business people many knows it, but I’m talking about the people who are traveling around! People who know most tourist countries! They don’t even know where or what is Kuwait!

Nora-Cassandra: Thanks for the comment. I was watching the news last night and got so sad hearing that 11 Iraqis were killed while celebrating a soccer match win. Then I thought man Iraq should be the richest country in the region with all the resources and oil they have. Then I said wait a minute, Kuwait has probably the same and more. Although we have not reached a stage of killing each other for a soccer match win, we are in fact killing this beautiful rich country by having some stupid people here and there standing obstacle to our improvement. God bless Kuwait now and forever!!!!!!!!!
