Bedoor: As always thank you. Now the main difference between Ejarah and loan is how much you are paid and how much you must pay back and for how long. I suggest that anyone really interested must ask the bank directly since both have so many variables and details depending on your case and financial status. Cheers

I was very surprised to know that no foreigners are allowed to own an estate in Kuwait! That is so shocking for me but hope it’ll change some day as you said!

Such a good subject Dr, Bu Rashid!! I haven’t been thinking of investing in Kuwait, but listening to you make me understand so much about subjects I never though about

  4. Dr. Bo Rashid Says:

Nora-Cassandra: Thanks for the comment. I think it’s a shock for all of us and that’s why I personally believe Kuwait can never achieve the financial capitol of the GCC and becoming a global business center unless they resolve issues like foreign investment and others. I do like the idea of Ejarah and see it a good business strategy provided that a person who is interested in such a business move does the research behind it very well. On a personal note, how do you rate investing in real estate business in Finland? Do you recommend GCC citizens to own a land or estate there? And how expensive and difficult is it to do such a thing? Cheers

  5. noracassandra Says:

Lands are too expensive and hard to find! You pay very high taxes here that might reach over 30% easily! As a fin I would love to have a piece of land from the forest close to lake or as we say country sides! That’s best lands to own! In Helsinki or around the prizes are ridicules and almost impossible to find!! For example a 2 bedroom apartment outside of center Helsinki would go to 100.000-150.000 euros and you still end up paying at least 100 euros a month even if you don’t live in it + yearly taxes for owning a property!

Bulgaria is one of the best places in EU now for such investments.

I’m living in Cyprus, it’s not bad here either but you need to know the right people anywhere you plan to do such investments!

I’m not into investing because I have no money!! But if you ever want me to ask about anything here, Finland or in the EU I’m happy to try my best! :)
Ps; I do hope the law changes so I could start thinking of buying an apartment or any kind of estate there!

  6. Dr. Bo Rashid Says:

Nora-Cassandra: Thanks indeed for the very helpful information. I like Bulgaria personally but the problem is I don’t go there often. My personal love-to-buy a estate has to be Luzern and in particular Burgenstock, Switzerland. I just love this heaven on earth place in every aspect.
As for Kuwait, I think the laws will change soon otherwise becoming a financial center for international investments will be only a dream or a story to tell our kids. Thanks for your information and maybe we will meet in Finland or anywhere in Europe soon so we discuss Kuwait and investing in Europe. Cheers ;)
